Project 365: Days 139 - 145

Day 139: Playing catch - we spent the day in the Country Park and had a fantastic day.  The boys paddled in the stream with their trainers on so we decided to let them dry out a bit while the boys played a game of catch.

Day 140: Sleepy boy - I worked today so only got a chance to take a photo of my sleeping boy.  What the photo doesn't show is all the trains that he's lined up on his pillow so that he has to sleep halfway down the bed.

Day 141: Cake - I finished work early today so decided to make a lemon drizzle cake.  I probably shouldn't have as I'm trying to cut down on all the junk food and this really isn't the way to go about it.

Day 142: Baby's day out - back to the Country Park for me and O.  It was a beautiful day and he loved playing in the sand pit with his friends.  We all had great fun.

Day 143: Toys - we got the Happlyland toys out today as the weather wasn't so good.  My favourite is the funfair.

Day 144: Bunny - my parents went on holiday so I got a little visitor for the weekend.  This is Sonic the Rabbit.  He is so cute!

Day 145: Climbing trees - there was a festival at our local park so we went down for the day.  It was fantastic.  There was live music and a funfair.  I went on one of the rides with the oldest two and it was great.  They sat on the grass and ate candy floss before going to look for squirrels and climb trees.  We even got to watch Ragsy )from The Voice) sing live.

The perfect weather to ride a bike

Today it was son number two's turn to learn to ride his bike.  We taught my oldest to ride his back in the summer and it took a week of hard work before it really clicked and we're hoping that it's the same this time.

The weather was beautiful today so we packed the car with two bikes, a trike and three children and we set off for our local Country Park.  It's the perfect place to learn to ride a bike as there's lots of straight bits and it's mostly flat.

Firstly, a pep talk from dad.  Let's hope it works.
 And we're off!
He's a bit wobbly, but he'll soon get the hang of it.

Oops! Daddy let go.
The other boys are having fun though.

No help needed here.
No pictures please!

My oldest and youngest boys were my responsibility today while hubby took on the back breaking task of holding on to that bike.  He wasn't allowed to let go as Ethan would panic so, for today, he held on to it.  We did have to take a few breaks from all that hard work.

Watching the ducks
Can't break for too long though; must get back to the task in hand.  Ethan is doing really well too.  He just needs a bit more confidence and then he'll be off.

Time for another break before heading back, and who can blame him with that view?  I sometimes forget how beautiful my local area is.

 Finally, the best bit.

Ice-cream!!

Do you think the children look a bit cold though?

There's just enough time for some fun in the park before we go home.

Just pretend we're on a beach in the sun....
It's going to take a bit more time and effort to finally crack it, but half term is coming up and I'm determined that Ethan will be riding his bike like a pro by the end of it.  Let's hope the weather holds out so he can learn.

I have heard a whisper about an Indian Summer..... Hmmm, I'll believe it when I see it!
